Who We Are

A wellness technology company, built around one standard

Sun Home Saunas is a San Diego‑based wellness technology company founded in 2021 by Adam Fischer and Tyler Fish.

We design indoor and outdoor infrared saunas, traditional saunas, cold plunges, red light therapy systems, and infrared sauna blankets for homes and commercial spaces across the United States.

Everything we make is held to the same standard: performance you can verify, engineering worth patenting, and design that earns a permanent place in your home.

We publish our independent lab testing, document our craftsmanship, protect our work with patented technology, and stand behind it with a limited lifetime warranty on most models.

A premium product should be easy to check, not just easy to claim.

Why We Started

Before Sun Home was a company, it was a habit

The two of us, Adam Fischer and Tyler Fish, met working in sales at the marketing platform Impact.com and became close friends over a shared obsession: how much better everything else went when heat and cold were part of the week.

Sauna sessions after training. Cold water when stress ran high. We weren’t wellness executives looking for a market. We were two friends in our late twenties trying to protect the routines that kept us at our best.

When we each looked into putting a sauna at home, we found an industry that hadn’t caught up to the people using it. Buying one meant local pool stores and custom builders, thin and often conflicting information, and luxury pricing without the transparency that should come with it.

We had spent the previous decade in e‑commerce, helping companies like Uber, Airbnb, Instacart, and Williams Sonoma grow online, and we saw the chance to bring that same standard of transparency, design, and customer care to a category that was ready for it.

So in 2021 we set out to build the company we wished we could buy from. We kept our day jobs and worked nights and weekends. We didn’t raise outside money; we funded Sun Home ourselves, out of our own sales commissions, which meant every decision had to earn its place.

Our education came fast, and it was humbling. Our first move was buying an existing sauna website to learn the market, and with it we inherited every problem the old way of doing business had created. We spent our earliest months answering for those problems, one phone call at a time. It became an unexpected education in everything this category needed to improve, and it set the standard Sun Home has held itself to ever since.

When it came time to grow, we made a bet that still defines the company:

Spend on the product, not the pitch

Instead of buying claims, we shipped complete saunas and cold plunges to editorial teams at national publications, including Fortune, Forbes, Sports Illustrated, and Rolling Stone, and agreed to live with whatever they published.

Fortune and Forbes put our products through hands‑on testing against the biggest names in the category, and both ranked a Sun Home product first in its class. That validation, earned rather than purchased, turned a side project into one of the fastest‑growing private companies in America, a distinction Inc. has now recognized two years running.

Inc. magazine has told the longer version of this story. We’re still writing the rest of it: still founder‑led, still direct‑to‑consumer, and still using our own products every week, at home in San Diego.

How We Build

Standards you can check for yourself

Engineered, then patented

Sun Home develops proprietary heating, cooling, and construction technologies and protects them through issued and pending intellectual property, including U.S. design patent D1,079,961 covering the Luminar’s distinctive exterior design.

Tested by independent labs

We commission independent testing from named laboratories: EMF testing by Vitatech Electromagnetics, and cabin air‑quality (VOC) testing by VERT Environmental analyzed by an AIHA‑accredited lab. We publish the reports for anyone to read.

Built to be owned for years

Materials are chosen for how they age, not just how they photograph, and construction is documented rather than described. Most models are backed by a limited lifetime warranty and supported by our U.S.‑based team.

Engineering Focus

2025–2026: efficiency and sustainability

Across 2025 and 2026, our engineering focus has centered on efficiency and sustainability in concrete terms: reducing operating energy, selecting lower‑emission materials, and designing products for longer service life. A recovery practice you keep daily should be responsible daily: in the energy it draws, the materials it’s made from, and how long it lasts.

That focus shows up across the line. Insulated cabin construction, like the Luminar’s double‑pane glass, holds heat instead of wasting it. Our cold plunge chillers cycle to maintain temperature rather than running continuously, so the Cold Plunge Pro stays cold and ready all day without drawing power all day; its published maintenance‑energy estimate is roughly 1 kWh per day, and actual use varies with ambient temperature, setpoint, and usage.

Materials are chosen for low emissions and backed by the independent air‑quality testing we publish. And every product is engineered to be owned for years, not replaced, from the Luminar’s aluminum exterior that never needs sealing or staining to the limited lifetime warranty behind most models. The most sustainable product is the one you don’t have to throw away.
