Outdoor Infrared Saunas Built for Real Outdoor Living
Sun Home Saunas’ outdoor infrared saunas are engineered from the ground up to perform outdoors year-round, without sacrificing heat output, comfort, or aesthetics. Unlike indoor infrared cabins retrofitted for patios, our outdoor models are purpose-built to withstand sun, rain, wind, and temperature swings while delivering consistent, therapeutic infrared heat.
Each infrared outdoor sauna pairs full-spectrum glass-tube heaters with flat carbon far-infrared panels, heating the body directly rather than spending energy warming the surrounding air. The result is deeper heat penetration and a more comfortable outdoor sauna experience, with a maximum operating temperature of 170°F.
Whether you’re recovering after training or winding down at the end of the day, these benefits enhance your relaxation.
Designed Specifically for Outdoor Use
Every Sun Home Saunas’ outdoor sauna is constructed with weather-resistant materials chosen for longevity in real outdoor environments:
- Aerospace-grade aluminum exterior panels for corrosion resistance
- Naturally durable Canadian Red Cedar interiors for warmth, aroma, and moisture control
- Thick double-pane black-tinted glass on three sides to maintain heat efficiency outdoors
- Reinforced insulation to help maintain stable internal temperatures
This combination allows our outdoor infrared saunas to perform reliably across seasons while maintaining a clean, modern look that complements patios, decks, and backyard wellness spaces.
Full-Spectrum Infrared Heat, Optimized Outdoors
Sun Home Saunas’ outdoor models use full-spectrum infrared heaters that emit near-, mid-, and far-infrared wavelengths, delivering a balanced heat profile that supports muscle recovery, circulation, and relaxation.
Unlike traditional outdoor saunas that rely on heating the surrounding air, infrared heat works directly on the body — which is why an infrared sauna outdoors reaches a comfortable session temperature without first having to bring a whole cabin of air up to 195°F.
Independent Vitatech testing places magnetic-field levels at 0.3–0.9 mG at the typical seated distance of three feet — virtually background. Precise digital controls keep performance consistent session to session.
Modern Outdoor Sauna Design
Sun Home Saunas’ outdoor infrared saunas are intentionally designed to look as good as they perform. Clean architectural lines, premium materials, and thoughtful details make them feel like a permanent extension of your home, not an afterthought in the backyard.
Integrated lighting, intuitive controls, and an optional red light therapy add-on elevate each session while keeping operation simple and reliable.

Electrical and Placement
Both outdoor models are 240V and require their own dedicated GFCI circuit, installed by a licensed electrician — never a shared outlet. The Luminar 2-Person runs on a dedicated 20A circuit with a NEMA L6-20R receptacle; the Luminar 5-Person requires a dedicated 30A circuit with a NEMA L6-30R receptacle. Leave 4–6 inches of clearance at the back and sides, and 20–24 inches above the roof for service access.
