Pod Sauna

Last updated: June 8, 2026

The Pod is Sun Home's 1-person indoor far-infrared sauna with a circular 360-degree cabin design. It comes standard with an integrated red-light therapy panel, chromotherapy and ambient lighting, Bluetooth audio, and Wi-Fi app connectivity. Designed for a tight indoor footprint — a corner of a bedroom, home gym, or office works.

The Pod runs on a standard 120V 20A circuit. No 240V wiring required. Plug it into a dedicated NEMA 5-20P outlet — see the electrical section below.

Heating

The Pod uses 11 carbon far-infrared heaters arranged across 4 zones surrounding you in a 360-degree cabin. This is a far-infrared-only design — there are no full-spectrum heaters in the Pod. The far-infrared wavelengths penetrate evenly, but because the cabin is enclosed and small, preheating is recommended for the best experience. Plan to run the Pod for 15–25 minutes before your session begins so the cabin reaches your target temperature.

Maximum operating temperature is approximately 149°F. The Pod heats up faster than a multi-person sauna because the smaller cabin volume reaches set point with less energy.

Red Light Therapy

The Pod ships with a built-in red light therapy panel — this is included as standard equipment, not an optional add-on. The RLT panel runs independently of the sauna heat, so you can use it during a heated session or run a stand-alone RLT session with the cabin cool.

Electrical Requirements

The Pod needs a single dedicated 120V 20A circuit terminating in a NEMA 5-20P outlet:

  • Voltage: 120V
  • Amperage: 14.2A operating draw on a 20A circuit
  • Outlet: NEMA 5-20P (the wide-T-slot variant of a standard household outlet)
  • Circuit: Dedicated 20A — do not share with other appliances on the same breaker
  • Extension cords: Not supported. Place the Pod within reach of the 11-ft factory cord, or have an electrician install an outlet at your install location.

For full electrical requirements across the entire Sun Home lineup, see Electrical Requirements Overview.

Installation Clearances

Plan for about 20 inches of clearance around the Pod during setup so the panels can be maneuvered into place. Once assembled, the Pod's operating footprint is tight — it's specifically designed to fit smaller indoor rooms.

Assembly

The Pod is shipped in a single crate and assembled in-home without specialty tools. A screwdriver for the door handle and the included Allen wrench for the glass-to-frame connection are all you need. The Magne-Seal™ panel system snaps the cabin together, and the unit is pre-assembled and tested at the factory before being disassembled and crated for shipping. Plan for about 90 minutes of assembly with two people — the Pod is the quickest Sun Home model to set up because of its single-occupant cabin size.

Care and Cleaning

Canadian Hemlock is naturally smooth, low-odor, and stable under repeated heating cycles. To keep your Pod in great shape:

  • Wipe down the interior bench and floor with a clean towel after each session.
  • Use the Sun Home Eco-Friendly Sauna Cleaner for deeper cleans — avoid solvents or bleach.
  • Air out the cabin with the door open for 10–15 minutes after a session.
  • Keep liquids off the heater panels. The unit is fine with normal session humidity, but direct water on a heater can damage it.

Where to Buy
