How Sun Home Compares on Red Light
| If you prioritize… |
Strongest option |
Why |
| Highest integrated RLT wattage | Sun Home Eclipse | 1,800W across 360 LEDs, dual-panel front + back coverage |
| Published irradiance data | Peak Saunas / Clearlight CORE | Peak publishes 175 mW/cm² at 6". Clearlight CORE publishes 110 mW/cm². Sun Home does not prominently publish irradiance. |
| Broadest wavelength range | Peak Saunas (8 wavelengths) | 630–1,060nm across 8 wavelengths. Sun Home uses 660+850nm (2 wavelengths) |
| 360° RLT coverage | JNH Arki | Red light emitters distributed around the entire cabin, not just front/back |
| Hybrid: IR + steam + RLT | Finnmark FD-4 Trinity | Infrared + traditional steam + RLT in one unit. Sun Home is infrared only. |
| RLT as add-on to existing sauna | Clearlight CORE Tower (~$1,499) | Standalone panel compatible with multiple setups. More cost-effective if you already own a sauna. |
| RLT at a lower price point | Multiple brands ($3,000–$6,000) | Several competitors offer integrated RLT with shorter warranties — see buyer's guide |
| Smallest RLT sauna footprint | Sun Home Pod | 1-person cylindrical design — most compact RLT sauna in this collection |

Red Light Sauna FAQ
What is the best infrared sauna with red light therapy?
It depends on budget, coverage architecture, and wavelength range. Sun Home Eclipse ($10,099) has the highest integrated wattage (1,800W, 360 LEDs, dual-panel front+back). Peak Saunas has the broadest wavelength range (8 wavelengths, 630–1,060nm). JNH Arki has 360° distribution. Clearlight sells RLT separately (CORE Tower ~$1,499). Finnmark FD-4 Trinity adds traditional steam. See our multi-brand buyer's guide.
Red light therapy vs. chromotherapy — what's the difference?
Red light therapy (photobiomodulation) uses specific wavelengths at 630–670nm and 810–850nm at sufficient power to penetrate skin and support cellular processes. Chromotherapy uses colored LEDs for mood and ambiance — a different technology. Many saunas advertise "red light" but deliver only chromotherapy. Verify which is included before purchasing.
Does the Eclipse provide full-body red light coverage?
Yes. Two factory-installed panels — one front, one back — deliver simultaneous full-body coverage at 660nm + 850nm without repositioning. 360 LEDs, 1,800W combined output.
Does the Luminar include red light therapy?
Not as standard. The Luminar's base price covers full-spectrum infrared only. Red light therapy is available as an optional add-on, purchased separately. Eclipse and Pod include RLT as standard.
What wavelengths are most studied for photobiomodulation?
Red light at 630–670nm and near-infrared at 810–850nm have the most published research for skin health, inflammation, and cellular ATP production. Check whether a manufacturer publishes specific wavelengths in these ranges — and ideally, irradiance (power density in mW/cm²) at a stated distance.
Can I add red light to a sauna I already own?
Yes. Standalone RLT panels ($300–$1,500+) can be placed inside most saunas. Clearlight's CORE Tower (~$1,499) is a popular add-on option. Sun Home's Luminar also offers an RLT add-on panel. If you already own a quality sauna, adding a standalone panel may be more cost-effective than buying a new sauna with built-in RLT.
