Outdoor placement: the Sun Home Luminar 2P and 5P add factory-grade RLT via the optional Red Light Add-On — same 660+850nm wavelengths and Eclipse-equivalent panels, configured at order time. This is the only outdoor RLT option in the Sun Home lineup.
Not the best fit if: you want RLT at a lower price — several brands offer integrated red light in the $3,000–$6,000 range with shorter warranties (see buyer's guide). If you already own a sauna and want to add RLT, a standalone panel or Clearlight's CORE Tower (~$1,499) may be more cost-effective. If you want infrared + traditional steam + RLT in one unit, Finnmark's FD-4 Trinity offers all three.
Category 2 — Integrated RLT LEDs: Smaller LED arrays with published wavelengths. Sun Home Pod is in this category.
Category 3 — Chromotherapy: Colored mood lighting — not photobiomodulation. Many saunas advertise "red light" but deliver only chromotherapy.
Category 4 — RLT sold separately: The sauna doesn't include red light; it's purchased as an accessory. Clearlight CORE Tower is in this category.
Before purchasing, verify which category a sauna falls into.
