Welcome to Your Pod Sauna
Congratulations! You are now the owner of a Sun Home Pod infrared sauna. This manual will help you get started, stay safe, and enjoy every session to the fullest.
Your Pod sauna uses infrared light and heat together to deliver two powerful benefits at once:
- Far infrared heat penetrates deep into your muscles and tissues, boosting circulation and helping your body repair and recover.
- Heat creates a detoxifying sweat, activates heat shock proteins, and gives your body the positive stress it needs to get stronger.
- The red light panel adds visible wavelengths, giving you a broader range of wellness benefits.
Science shows that regular infrared sauna use can help improve circulation, ease pain, support detoxification, reduce stress, speed up muscle recovery, improve sleep, and boost energy. Your experience is unique. Listen to your body and enjoy the journey.
Start with short sessions (5–10 minutes, 2–3 times per week). As you feel the benefits, gradually increase your session length, temperature, and frequency.

Heat-Up Times
| CONDITION | HEAT-UP TIME | NOTES |
|---|---|---|
| Ideal indoor room (68–75°F) | 10–20 min | Temperature-controlled room, standard conditions |
| Cool indoor room (55–65°F) | 20–30 min | Allow extra time; infrared is effective immediately on entry |
| Cold/unheated garage (below 55°F) | 30–45+ min | Insulate the space if possible; sauna will still work |

You do not need to wait for the Pod to reach temperature before getting in. Infrared heat is effective from the moment it turns on. Step in right away and warm up with it.
Factors That Affect Heat-Up Time
- Ambient temperature is the biggest factor. An unheated garage can add 15–25+ minutes.
- Drafts and A/C vents blowing directly at the Pod will slow heating.
- Keep the door closed during heating.
- If applicable, ensure all heating zones are turned on via the control panel or app.
- Up to 20 inches of clearance around all sides supports optimal ventilation.

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy uses red and near-infrared light to support a variety of conditions. It can help regenerate cells, restore cell function, and increase blood flow, which can help relieve pain. Red light therapy can also help with muscle and joint pain and stiffness, and can relax muscles.
Using the Red Light Panel
- Controls for the red light panel are located on the side of the panel.
- To turn on the red light, select NIR / near infrared light, RED / visible red light, or both.
- Recommended: 20 minutes, 3 times per week, at 6–24 inches distance.
Safety When Using Red Light with Sauna Heaters
Wearing protective goggles while the heaters are on limits your visibility and increases the risk of accidental contact with hot surfaces. Always position yourself safely before putting on goggles and do not move while wearing them.
- Always sit down and position yourself away from heaters before putting on protective goggles.
- Do not move or reposition while wearing goggles. Remove them first if you need to move.
- Keep a safe distance from all heaters at all times. Contact with any heater surface can cause severe burns.
- Red light therapy panels are not FDA-approved to diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions. For general wellness use only.
- Do not use over open wounds or active infections.
- Do not use red light therapy if you have been diagnosed with melanoma or any form of skin cancer, or if you are undergoing cancer treatment. Consult your physician or oncologist before use if you have a history of skin cancer, are sensitive to light, or are taking photosensitizing medications. This device is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
- Consult your physician before use if you have photosensitivity disorders, pacemakers, metal implants, heart disease, epilepsy, or are pregnant.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the sauna is correctly installed and grounded to prevent electrical hazards.
- Maintenance: Regularly inspect the panels for damage, especially to electrical components. Discontinue use immediately if repairs are needed.
- Avoid Modification: Do not alter the equipment, as this could void warranties and create safety risks.

Care & Maintenance
Regular care keeps your sauna working well and protects your warranty.
After Every Use
- Dry off the bench and floor with a towel or lightly damp cloth.
- Leave the door slightly open so the inside can air out and dry completely.
- Unplug the sauna.
Every Week
- Clean inside surfaces with a cloth slightly dampened with warm water. For best results, use the Sun Home Cleaning Kit available on the website.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pre-heat the Pod before getting in?
No. Infrared heat is effective throughout the warm-up period. You can step in as soon as the Pod turns on and begin benefiting immediately.
How long does it take to heat up?
Typically 10–30 minutes depending on the ambient room temperature. Cold or unheated spaces will take longer. See the Heat-Up Times section for details.
Why does one zone feel less hot than another?
This is by design. The Pod’s four heating zones run at different wattages for safety. Zone A (side/rear walls) runs at 180W; Zone B (seat) at 80W; Zones C & D (front leg area and floor) at 125W. Lower wattage near contact areas prevents burns. This is normal operation.
Can I use it every day?
Yes, daily use is common and generally fine for healthy people. Stay hydrated and listen to your body. Check with your doctor if you have any health conditions.
Can I use the red light at the same time as the infrared heaters?
Yes. Red light therapy and infrared heat can be used simultaneously in the same session.
Can I bring my phone inside?
No. Heat can cause batteries to overheat, which is a fire hazard. Leave all electronics outside.
Can I add water to create steam?
No. This is a far-infrared sauna, not a steam sauna. Do not splash or spray water inside. If the Pod gets wet, unplug it immediately and do not use it until fully dry.
What Wi-Fi does the app require?
The Sun Home Saunas app requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. 5 GHz networks are not currently supported.
Is it normal to sweat a lot?
Yes! We recommend drinking water with electrolytes before, during, and after your session.
