This guide provides a high-level overview of how to assemble your Sun Home sauna. While each model has its own detailed manual, the core assembly process is similar across all products.

Most customers are able to complete assembly in under an hour with two people, though larger models may take longer.

Quick Answers

Do I need a professional installer?
No. Sun Home saunas are designed for customer assembly. Most customers install their sauna themselves, though electrical setup may require a licensed electrician depending on the model.

How many people do I need?
We recommend 2 people. Panels can be large and heavy, and having a second person makes assembly faster and safer.

How long does assembly take?

  • 2 people: 1-2 hours

  • 1 person: 2-3 hours

Do I need tools?
Yes. Most models require basic tools, and the exact tools vary by model. Depending on the sauna, you may need a screwdriver, rubber mallet, ladder, or other basic assembly tools.

Electrical Requirements (Important)

Every Sun Home sauna and cold plunge needs its own dedicated circuit — a breaker that powers nothing else. Wrong outlet or shared circuit is the single most common setup problem we see, and it is the easiest one to avoid.

Your exact requirement is on your product page, under Key Features → Electrical Requirements. It gives the dedicated circuit size and the outlet type, or tells you the unit is hardwired. That is the figure to hand your electrician.

120V Models — plug into a dedicated 120V outlet:

  • Solstice 1, 2 & 3-Person

  • Equinox 2 & 3-Person

  • Eclipse 2-Person

240V Models — plug into a dedicated 240V outlet:

  • Eclipse 4-Person

  • Luminar 2 & 5-Person

240V Hardwired Models — no plug; wired in by a licensed electrician:

  • Nova 3 & 6-Person

  • Solaris 4 & 6-Person

Nova and Solaris are traditional saunas, and their electrical setup is different from our infrared models. There is no cord and no outlet — a licensed electrician wires the sauna directly into a dedicated 240V circuit. Book that work before your delivery date, and give your electrician the circuit size from your product page so the wiring is ready when the sauna arrives.

Cold Plunges:

Every cold plunge uses a standard 120V wall plug (NEMA 5-15) — but that outlet still has to be on its own dedicated GFCI circuit. A standard plug does not mean a shared circuit. Your product page lists the exact circuit size.

Important Notes

  • Always use a dedicated circuit. Nothing else on that breaker.

  • Never use an extension cord, power strip, or plug adapter.

  • Match the outlet to your model before setup. The wrong outlet is the most common reason a unit will not power on.

  • Use a licensed electrician for any new circuit, any 240V work, and every hardwired model.

Before You Start

  • Choose a flat, level surface in your final installation location

  • Confirm your power setup matches your sauna model

  • Unpack and verify all components are present

  • Make sure you have enough room to assemble the unit safely

  • Review your model-specific manual on the product page before starting

Core Assembly Process (All Models)

1. Position the Base

  • Place the base in the final installation location

  • Confirm it is level and stable before continuing

2. Install the Wall Panels

  • Install the back panel first

  • Attach the side panels using the built-in connection system for your model

  • Make sure all panels sit flush before moving on

3. Install the Front Panel and Door Components

  • Position the front panel

  • Install or align the door components as required by your model

  • Check that the door opens and closes smoothly

4. Connect Interior Wiring

  • Connect all internal wiring and heater connections as labeled

  • Confirm each connection is secure before closing the unit

5. Install Benches, Backrests, and Interior Parts

  • Install benches, backrests, heaters, covers, or accessories as required for your model

6. Install the Roof or Ceiling Panel

  • Position the top panel carefully

  • Complete any final wiring connections

  • Secure remaining covers or fasteners

Outdoor Models (Luminar)

  • Designed for outdoor use

  • Require a stable outdoor base

  • May include additional weather-related setup considerations

Tools You May Need

Can I plug this into a regular outlet?
Only if your model is designed for that outlet type. Every sauna and cold plunge needs its own dedicated circuit, and the Nova and Solaris traditional saunas are hardwired with no plug at all. Do I need an electrician?
In many cases, yes, especially if the correct outlet is not already installed.

Can I use an extension cord?
