App Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2026

Applies to the Sun Home app on iPhone, iPad, and Android phones.

Data we collect

Account information (name, email, optional phone number and profile photo), session history (type, duration, temperature and the place you choose to label it with), purchase history for Sun Home memberships, device data (device IDs and status), and optional health and wellness data. When you add a Nova, Sun Home also receives the Sauna ID and controller Code needed to verify that UKU controller. The app asks for Bluetooth and location permission on Android only to find and set up nearby devices; it doesn’t collect your location. Sun Home does not collect heart rate during sessions.

Health data

Health data is optional and used only with your permission, and only for the services you choose to connect:

  • Apple Health (iPhone): sleep duration and stages, read-only. Sun Home asks for Apple Health access only when you connect it, and reads sleep only.
  • Oura (optional connection): daily readiness, sleep score and sleep duration, and stress or restorative summaries where available.
  • WHOOP (optional connection): recovery, sleep performance, and sleep duration.

Apple Health, Oura, and WHOOP remain the sources of their own data. These readings are recorded separately, outside your Sun Home sessions. Sun Home does not collect heart rate, heart rate variability, or resting heart rate, does not read workouts, and does not record anything from a wearable during a sauna, cold plunge, contrast, or breathwork session. Oura and WHOOP connect through their own sign-in (OAuth); the credentials are encrypted on Sun Home servers and removed when you disconnect the service or delete your account.

Historical heart-rate samples saved before November 2026 are kept until you delete them or your account. Deleting a session also deletes its samples.

We never sell your health data or provide it to advertisers or data brokers.

Recovery, beyond the session

Connect a supported health service to view sleep and daily recovery insights alongside your Sun Home routine. You do not need to wear a watch or ring during a sauna, cold plunge, or contrast session. Wearable data syncs separately, helping you see longer-term patterns without exposing your device to extreme temperatures.

Always follow your wearable manufacturer’s safety guidance. Recovery insights are for general wellness and are not medical advice. Insights that compare your sleep or recovery with your routine describe patterns and associations in your own data, not proof that a session caused a result.

How we use your data

To provide the app: control and show your Sun Home hardware, sync sessions across your devices, display wellness insights, manage your membership and support you. Sun Home works with service providers to run the app, including Google Cloud and Firebase (accounts and servers), Tuya and HUUM (device connectivity) and Apple and Google (payments). They process data on our behalf.

Device diagnostics

The app automatically sends device connection failures and recovery reports to Sun Home for troubleshooting. Reports are linked to your account and include your device ID and software versions (app and device firmware), and may include recent device values, connection history, command results and errors. Authorized staff can read these reports for 30 days. Reports exclude passwords, controller access codes and complete provider SDK records.

Your choices and deletion

You can disconnect Oura or WHOOP and delete individual sessions at any time; deleting a session also deletes any heart-rate samples saved with it. You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete Account, or by following these steps. Your account closes right away and your data is erased within 30 days; backup copies expire within 30 days. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
