The Solstice is Sun Home's far-infrared sauna line, manufactured by Sunlighten (Signature series). Available in 1-Person, 2-Person, 3-Person, and 4-Person configurations, the Solstice uses patented SoloCarbon® heater technology to deliver clinically-proven 99% effective far-infrared at the optimal 9.4 micron wavelength.
The Solstice 4-Person is 240V — Solstice 1, 2, and 3 are 120V. Confirm the right circuit for your model before installation. See the electrical section below for full details.

The Solstice 4-Person is the only Solstice model that requires 240V. If you're upgrading from a smaller Solstice, your existing 120V circuit will not power the 4-Person — plan for a licensed electrician to add a dedicated 240V 20A circuit terminating in a NEMA 6-20P outlet.

Heating Performance
- Maximum temperature: ~145°F (many customers find 140°F delivers great results)
- Heat-up rate to 120°F: roughly 1°F per minute from room temperature
- Heat-up rate above 120°F: 2–5 minutes per degree as the cabin approaches peak temp
- Time to peak temperature: ~2 hours of continuous operation to reach 144–146°F (varies by ambient room temperature)
For most sessions, plan a 15–25 minute preheat to reach a comfortable operating temperature, then enjoy a 30–40 minute session.
Installation Clearances
- Wall clearance: 4" minimum on all sides
- Ceiling clearance: 12" minimum above the sauna
- Power cord: 10 ft, exits from the back left of the roof (facing the sauna)
Do NOT install on a GFCI or AFCI breaker. The Solstice's heaters can cause GFCI/AFCI breakers to trip during normal operation. Use a standard dedicated breaker only.
Indoor Use Only
The Solstice should be installed indoors or in a controlled environment. Exposure to moisture, insects, or rodents can cause damage not covered under warranty. If you're looking for an outdoor sauna, consider the Luminar (outdoor infrared) or Solaris (traditional outdoor) lines instead.
Care and Cleaning
Both Basswood and Eucalyptus are naturally stable hardwoods suited to repeated heat cycles. To keep your Solstice in great shape:
- Wipe down the interior bench and floor with a clean towel after each session.
- Use the Sun Home Eco-Friendly Sauna Cleaner for deeper cleans — avoid solvents or bleach.
- Air out the cabin with the door open for 10–15 minutes after a session.
- Keep liquids off the heater panels.
